Our Committee

Chair - Iona Sadler
Iona has worked in the Arts and Education Sector for 40 years as a Venue and Events Manager, Admissions and Development Manager and Domestic Bursar. After 11 years spent in Sweden working for an International School and undertaking Accreditation Visits in various parts of the world for two international education accreditation bodies she moved to Highworth in 2013 and joined VHL in 2023.
I am passionate about promoting Highworth - Wiltshire's Hidden Gem - to the UK and beyond!
Vice-Chair - Keith Smith
Keith Smith moved to Highworth 35 years ago. He and his wife, Cindy, were immediately struck by the genuine friendliness of the residents. Once retired Keith became involved in a number of community activities, including the production of ‘Highworth, The Vision’ and Highworth Community Partnership Group. Keith was part of the team to open the Community Centre, which now has over 500 people a week coming through its doors.
For 5 years Keith helped to organise the May Day Market and was also on the original team to open the Visitor Information, Craft Centre and Museum.
I am determined that the Centre should remain an essential part of Highworth’s tourism infrastructure.
Business Manager - Ian James
Ian James has lived in Highworth for over 40 years. He is a retired accountant and spent 10 years as a Citizens Advice advisor and trustee. Ian has been involved with Visit Highworth since its inception in 2019.
I want to ensure that the town centre flourishes and that its unique history is appreciated by tourists and residents alike.
Treasurer - Joan Webb
Joan Webb is the Treasurer of Visit Highworth. Joan has lived in Highworth for 45 years. She has worked as a Secretary to a Solicitor both in London and Swindon, as an MDSA in a Highworth primary school, cooked at the Saracens whilst her children were small, and then as an Admin Officer/Bursar at a special school in Swindon for over 25 years, before retiring.
Joan does a variety of volunteer work around Swindon and Highworth and enjoys the friendship volunteering brings.
Secretary / IT - Paul Moore
Paul Moore is the Secretary of Visit Highworth. Paul has lived in Highworth for 13 years. He was a director and consultant of an electronic and electrical company that worked for the oil & gas and rail industry.
Paul brings his skills as an IT specialist and engineer to VHL, together with over 25 years experience gained from running his own company.
I am passionate about making Visit Highworth the best that it can be.
Facilitator / Events - Julia Rose
Julia Rose looks after events and the centre rota and also volunteers weekly in centre.
Julia has lived in Highworth for 39 years initially with her ex-husband and son. She was a partner in their pre-press business where she handled the admin, accounts, wages and customer deliveries, whilst bringing up their son, who attended local schools in Highworth. Julia then worked as a secondary and sixth form teacher before retiring a few years ago.
After an all consuming career I am enjoying renewing past friendships and sharing a love of all things Highworth.
